On the evening of March 13 I went out with only one plan in mind: to see Pleasure Venom and Good Talk at Hole In the Wall for the KVRX Showcase. From there I rode in the back of a pick-up truck to a house party where I caught Go Cozy from D.C. and The Last Humans from right here in ATX. After that I hitched another ride to Hotel Vegas where I caught the end of Young Girls and the beginning of Rose Selavy before it was time to head home and sleep off the free alcohol. SXSW is great for seeing amazing music absolutely everywhere, of course, but I was happy this night included a whole bunch of locals – not the norm for a festival flooded with more out-of-town bands than in-town ones.
