Show Preview: Hardly Strictly Bluegrass

Austin, The Live Music Capital of the World, has been silent now for months. It’s really truly a heartbreak, considering that venues and musicians are the life force of this city. We all miss the excitement of a show, that Cheers like feeling that Cheer Ups brings, the sweaty dancing, the chance to sing and support our friends and colleagues.

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, which this year is a one day live streaming event coming to your home October 3rd, 2020, is trying to help mend that bridge.

The line up features some of Austin’s dearest, such as Carrie Rodriguez, Shakey Graves, Los Coast, Butch Hancock and Jimmie Dale Gilmore (of The Flatlanders.) They stack up alongside some of the greats (some of whom have dallied with ATX) like Emmylou Harris, Patty Griffin, Steve Earle, Robert Earl Keen, Fantastic Negrito, Tre Burt, Amythyst Kiah, The Black Banjo Reclamation Project, Bonnie Raitt, Boz Scaggs, and oh, so many more.

Along with this incredible lineup, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival is making sure to help take care of our own. They not only have a relief fund for Bay Area Artists and Venues, but also have now joined forces with Artist Relief to create a fund for artists from all over to support during this time. At this time, they are looking to give 1 million dollars away toward relief for artists affected by COVID-19.

It’s a great chance to make a special weekend night for yourself, support ATX music, and see what promises to be a truly special live streaming event. So get a drink ala curbside and take out, put on your best festival clothes, decorate your house, and get ready to party together while apart. We hear tell if you tag HSB on one of their social media platforms something special might happen.
