OVRLD (and SideOneTrackOne & Pop Press Intl) Presents

Dana Falconberry

We here at OVRLD are proud to join SideOneTrackOne and Pop Press International to present a FREE epic show for you this Saturday, November 3rd at the Blackheart. We know that most of the focus of this weekend will be on Fun Fun Fun Fest, but do not miss this show. Especially if you lack tickets to FFF Fest.

We’re super excited about this show because three of our favorite bands are headlining! Dana Falconberry goes on at 11pm on the outdoor stage at the Blackheart, and her album Leelanau stands as one of our favorites of the year. She is just returning from a North American tour that saw her playing such classic venues as The Black Cat in Washington, D.C., First Avenue in Minneapolis and Irving Plaza in New York City. We’re proud to help welcome her and her band home to Austin!

Bobby Jealousy is another of our favorite bands of 2012, and their album A Little Death is a power pop gem. They’ve been incorporating new band members into their sound and honed their live show to perfection. They go on at 1am on the indoor stage.

And sandwiched between these two local luminaries at midnight are The Sour Notes – one of the most prolific and inventive rock bands in town. Taken together, these three are a killer lineup that will keep the Blackheart jumping.

JC & Co.

JC & Co. - 'Endless St.'

One of the bands kicking off the fun at 10pm is JC and Co. We’ve only just become acquainted with their music, but they’ve got a sound we’re really digging. Their Music By album came out in December of last year and embodies late 60’s baroque pop perfectly. Reviewers continually compare them to the Zombies, and after much thought, we couldn’t find a better touchstone for their sound. A lot of this album could be Odessey & Oracle outtakes, illustrating frontman Jason Chronis’ gift for melody and mellow arrangements to accompany. We definitely recommend checking out their album, and we’re excited to see their live set.

Oh, and did we mention that Dripping Springs Vodka has complimentary beverages for the first 100 people in attendance with a drink special to follow? That’s what we thought. We’ll see you at the Blackheart on Saturday. Doors are at 8.
