Over the weekend, Ashley Bradley went out to document Indie Orchestra Night, a new project from local composer Nathan Felix that pairs acts like Dana Falconberry, Shearwater, Zeale and The Rocketboys with a 120 person ensemble choir and orchestra. Ashley said she “was really moved by the entire event and almost teared up a couple of times,” and added “If Laurie Gallardo wasn’t sitting right next to me most of the time I probably would have balled like a baby.” That’s pretty high praise, but as the photos hopefully show, it was an epic, unique event that showed off how ambitious the local scene can be.
