Pub rock resurrectionists Go Fever returned to Cheer Up Charlie’s over the weekend, with friends Lola Tried and Duncan Fellows supporting, alongside fresh faced up-and-comers Cat Jaguar. It was Go Fever’s final show with drummerJosh Merry of Sweet Spirit, but everyone was in, ahem, high spirits as they performed their classics along with material from the upcoming LP Daydream Hawker and a surprise No Doubt cover from their ABGB hoot night. The real surprise, however, was Cat Jaguar, who played with the manic contortionism of early Kills with the threads and sass of prime New York Dolls. Keep your eyes and ears on them. And in the meantime, check out Nick Hanover’s photos from the first half of the evening.

Nick Hanover got his degree from Disneyland, but he’s the last of the secret agents and he’s your man. Which is to say you can find his particular style of espionage here at Ovrld as well as Loser City, where he mostly writes about comics. You can also flip through his archives at Comics Bulletin, which he is formerly the Co-Managing Editor of, and Spectrum Culture, where he contributed literally hundreds of pieces for a few years. Or if you feel particularly adventurous, you can always witness his odd .gif battles with his friends and enemies on twitter: @Nick_Hanover
