Exclusive Video Premiere: Rob from Garden Street “Feel”

I never thought a day would come where I would see LARPing and lo-fi beatmaking collide and yet that’s exactly what Rob from Garden Street has provided with the video for his instrumental “Feel.” Perhaps even more shockingly, thanks to the drudgery of covid-19 isolation, LARPing is looking pretty damn good to me right now. Part of that is almost certainly due to the carefree, sparkling joy of Rob’s beat, which makes the nerdy shenanigans of the strung together home video footage positively infectious. “Feel” comes from Rob’s upcoming (in)Sect Records debut Post-Love, which is intended as both a tribute to ’90s hip-hop instrumental icons like J Dilla and MF Doom and a rejection of “the plethora of disposable study beats” that have so consumed the lo-fi scene. Constructed over the span of a year, Rob calls Post-Love a “soundtrack to catharsis and the shedding of old skin.” Scope it out below and check in at (in)Sect Records for more details about the release!
