Fresh Millions has already been covered all over the place: NPR, Covert Curiosity, Republic of Austin, and all kinds of other websites. Now their new single, “Hot New Jam From ’73,” has been making the rounds on the Austin music blogs, and understandably so. It’s a retro funk blast in the vein of Chromeo (complete with heavily effected vocals), but feels more organic because of their combination of electronic sounds with live drums, guitars, etc. It’s hard not to dance to this, and the hook will definitely stick in your head for days. It’s a great step forward for an already promising Austin band. Keep an eye out for them during SXSW – their official showcase is Saturday, March 19th at Red 7. And it promises to be fantastic.
