Friend to Austin Kyle Hubbard reached out to Ovrld about a cross city connection, asking us to premiere his Houston supergroup Extra Regular’s new track “Being John Malkovich,” which pairs the rugged emcee with Fullmetal and DJ Discipline over a Djay Cas beat. The track is packed full of hooks and Fullmetal and Hubbard bring out the best in each other, with each verse getting a lot of mileage out of the contrast between the playful, Dan the Automator-esque beat and Fullmetal and Hubbard’s aggressive, wordy styles. Check it out and keep your ears out for their full length, which should be out near the end of the year, and if you’ll be near Houston this weekend, Extra Regular will be making their first live appearance as a collective this Sunday, August 7th at The Continental Club (not to be confused with our Continental Club).
