During SXSW we asked some of our favorite bands to stop by Invengo Productions and record videos as kind of a miniature version of our Stuck on Repeat podcast, getting them to perform one original and one cover of a Texas artist. Denton’s Pageantry were an easy pick for the list, as we’re big fans of their new album Influence, and their baroque dream pop sound on the whole. They were one of two acts to choose a St. Vincent track to cover, but for Pageantry the choice has deeper meaning, since Annie Clark is a Denton native. So without further ado, here is Pageantry with their original “Friends of the Year,” as well as their take on St. Vincent’s “The Party.”
