Exclusive Track Premiere: Shark Rider “I’ve Arrived”

Austin’s not entirely landlocked but it isn’t exactly ocean front property either. But the city nonetheless has a healthy number of surf inflected rock groups, with the new act Shark Rider already standing out as one of the most promising on their single “I’ve Arrived.” Featuring members of Airplanes Above Us, The Marmalakes, Black and White Years and Flavor Raid, Shark Rider make beach music for power pop addicts, staking out a middleground between the Beach Boys and the Nerves. The track even manages to work in some pedal steel, taking that instrument back to its Hawaii origins and away from the realm of honky tonk.
