In a beautifully shot new video for his track “Fix Gon’ Be,” Marcelandrie attempts to work through romantic paranoia and mistrust, gazing out at sunny Austin backdrops while a woman in green follows him. Director Maurice Barrett smartly avoids cramming the video out with concepts and instead lets the natural beauty of the scenery and the iciness of the leads take the spotlight. The song itself is lush, dusty R&B, just a boom bap beat, laid back abss, chill electric piano and the occasional horns (provided by red hot local session man Derek Phelps) backing up Marcel’s filtered yet soulful vocals. Marcelandrie’s upcoming album, also called Fix Gon’ Be, is due out November 8th and will feature production by Adrian Quesada but after watching the video below you can get the single on iTunes.
