Soulful ensemble Mama K & the Shades put together a very cinematic new clip for their track “Midnight Train,” blending together old stock footage and animated segments showing a city changing through the decades through the perspective of people inhabiting the same building. The song is sorrowful in its explorations of what people go through to get by, and the animated scenes beautifully express that, utilizing clean, minimalist linework and simple background colors to center the attention on the emotions of the people. We’re thrilled to premiere it for you, right in time for Mama K & the Shades show at Stubb’s this Friday, July 28th.
