Highdive’s new track “No Shelter” begins with an insistent menace to it, guttural guitar jutting up against a militant drum beat. But it opens up in a surprising way, crystal clear vocals emerging from the muddy low end building up in the background. The band describe themselves as “elegant grunge” and that actually seems about right– murky guitars, heavy rhythms but debonair vocals that ensure every acidic put down is audible to you with absolute clarity.
