Exclusive Video Premiere: Good Field “Surface Tension”

Good Field Surface Tension

Album art by Esteban Cruz

Good Field have long excelled at making music for swooning, but they’ve outdone themselves with their new single “Surface Tension” and its accompanying Zachary T. Scott directed video. According to the band, “Surface Tension” is about “the sea pining over the sky,” and Scott brings that to vivid life with a fairy tale-like video shot on the 70 mile long untouched shoreline of Texas’s Padre Island National Seashore. Scott’s frequent collaborator John Valley stars as a sea god who washes up on Sky God Joss Sanroman’s island, giving the two the rare opportunity to indulge in their love for each other before the tides separate them once more. The video is markedly different from Scott’s other work, with its emphasis on space and natural light and sweet, simple narrative. We think you’ll love it, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you! So take a peek and then keep an eye out for Good Field’s new album, due out on January 30th, 2018 with a release show planned for Sidewinder on February 3rd!
