Exclusive Premiere: Otis the Destroyer “Cheetah”

Otis the Destroyer have been primed to be a breakout Austin act basically since their inception, but over the weekend they reached out to give us a glimpse at their upcoming new EP Belushi. The EP will be available March 1st and there will be a release party for it on March 5th at Barracuda with Megafauna and Modern Medicine, but until then, we’ve got a treat for you in the form of “Cheetah,” the EP’s first single.

“Cheetah” is a blast of Queens of the Stone Age-esque riffage, scuzzy and intense. But then it climaxes in a futuristic glam chorus, Taylor Wilkins’ voice and guitar cutting through the rancor to unleash hook after hook. We’re pretty confident that “Cheetah” is going to help put Otis on the national radar and set the path for Belushi to be a hit on the whole, but what do you think?
