Longtime Ovrld faves Growl have had quite the year already. Last night they opened for New York Doll Sylvain Sylvain at Hotel Vegas and they’ll be joining the lineup of Boise’s Treefort Festival at the end of March. But even better, they’ve got a new single to show off.
“Overnight” is a more laid back than usual effort from the group, hinting at a spacier, more shoegaze tinged sound for the band, but it’s still an excellent showcase of theirskills at arrangement and melody. The timing of the release is perfect, as “Overnight” occupies similar contradictory space as Austin’s current weather patterns, fitfully bright and sunny and moody and grey.
