Bringing together sonic science geniuses Chief & the Doomsday Device and BoomBaptist, “Barbaric Rhetoric” showcases the best both of these auteurs. Butcher’s grimy beat highlights the ruggedness of Chief and Boom’s flows and the video has a sly grindhouse aesthetic, situated somewhere between Pulp Fiction and Blues Brothers, with the duo decked out as holy beat men.
