Auto Body EP Release Party

This weekend is a great time to catch some of Austin’s best electronic music. Amongst the treasure trove of synth-heavy shows is the highly anticipated Auto Body EP Release Party. Celebrating the release of Say What You Will, the duo’s latest 5-track EP, Auto Body are bringing their new tunes to The Mohawk-one of the best venues in town. Seriously, have you guys checked out the new extended balcony there? It’s a great spot. Tickets are still available here. Also, the Auto Body crew is throwing in a free copy of Say What You Will for the first 50 through the door and Tito’s is hooking up the first 100 through the door with some free Voddy.

You can stream the EP at Auto Body’s Bandcamp page to get a taste of their twitchy and danceable sound. Say What You Will, released this past Wednesday, is the product of two years of songwriting and beat crafting. My favorite track off the EP is “Can’t Forget You.” The distorted synth lines and pumping beat make this song infectious. Throughout the whole EP, Auto Body pump out uptempo beats that I’m sure will keep the dancing flowing tonight at the Mohawk. If you’re familiar with Priest Party, the band’s previous release, you’ll hear a more contemporary synth sound on Say What You Will. Auto Body has left behind some of the retro synth sounds like on “So Humble The Goddess” from Priest Party and have replaced them with dirtier sounding synth leads. The lead single “Holding Out” is another highlight from the 5 track. Check it out below for some sweet sampling, grooving bass lines and an example of their dirty synth leads.

After the show tonight, Auto Body’s headed to Chicago’s North Coast Music Festival so be sure to catch them before they leave our great state of Texas. These guys play all their tunes live so be expecting something way more awesome than a just press play electronic set. The outdoor stage has a midnight sound curfew so you probably want to hit the show early.
